quick help please, start swap from 84 to an 89?

Alright starter is toast in my burb, its an 89 350 with SM465, can I pull the starter from my 84 K5 with 465? Or will this simply not work? Rather know if its gonna be a waste of time and whether I should be trying to get to a parts store asap.

should swap fine if both engines run same diameter of flywheel

it swapped almost perfectly. The bolts are tight but the starter isn't. Makes a nasty noise, but it got me to work and back. Just need some washers to tighten up the starter and its done.
