quick m1009 question

did the m1009 come with a detroit or any thing else in the rear axle like the m1008 did or is it open?
looking at buying a m1009 for the tub and frame and would like to kill two birds with one stone as we want to put a locker in the rear at some point in time.

The infamous Gov-Lock. Or as it's known around here "the ticking time bomb". Actually I've only seen two unit's blow up when we still had CUCV's, but then we didn't "wheel" them too hard.

i know about the gov bomb, had one in my truck before i went to 4.10s and a few friends blew theres up in a parking lot.
dam i was hoping to get a decent locker.
