hey everyone wondering if someone can help me out real quick without going to look at my truck. my steering pump reservoir has a crack in it, would it be possible without too much effort to change just the reservoir?

In order to change the reservoir you have to remove the pump anyways and unless you have a spare pump laying around with a good reservoir you'll have to find a place to buy one. It would be easiest to just replace the pump and be done.

well i have a friend with a few pumps with reservoirs laying around and i was gonna take a reservoir off and match it to my pump. is there any tricks in doing so or with the lines or is it all pretty straight forward? thanks for the fast response 4X4HIGH

You just need to remove ALL bolts on the back of the pump AND the large fitting for the high pressure hose and then the "can" will come off. You might need to persuade it a little but doesn't matter much with the old one but be careful with the one you're going to use so you don't bend it in anyway. There is a large O-ring on the pump itself and also a sealing washer at the bolt hole locations and fitting location so make sure those are still there when installing the new "can".
