Quick Q if an 85\' D60 will fit under a first gen

Jake(hipinion) has a custom built hi pinion D60 awaiting install under his 85K5 but he is now thinking about buying a first gen instead...will his 60 bolt in under a first gen? I always thought the front axle was the same thing under both a 1st and 2nd gen( the D44's). /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif He says Mark Boyce said it won't bolt into a first gen. /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif

It has to fit, no D60's came factory until 77' and lots of people here have 1 ton first gens. /forums/images/graemlins/screwy.gif Right?

All GM front axles are a direct swap for one another regardless of 1st Gen or 2nd Gen.

First off it's non of your business what he does with it.

It is very expensive to collect all the parts to completely convert to 1 ton, lift etc...

He has a family and a mortgage to take care of everyday that comes way before a vehicle....which is more than you can say for yourself.

BTW i dont mind waiting long and hard to gather all the right stuff,and then put it in. I dont really care how long i have to wait either. BTW...we had to listen to you talk about what ever you finally did to your K10, I heard about getting a D60 out of a parts truck and installed under something else for almost a year. You have no room to talk.

Hello jackass.....

The reason I said he should sell the Dynatrac '60 is because you could build a whole rig for just what that axle cost him originally.

As to the swappage of parts, I did it all at one time for a reason, because I wanted to do it right, and install my crossover steering etc. I could have done it earlier, but I don't drive my rig every day or anything, and I still could 'wheel without the '60 installed so I didn't care.

As to all your other rants, I already have a rig that is 1 ton, locked, etc., so I certainly don't need you to tell me what it costs to build one. My bank account figures are perfectly clear to me in that respect.

Take a joke already, hi_pinion wasn't offended, and neither should you. I was kidding, just because I know that he could sell that axle and buy a half dozen trucks with the money. /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif
