Quick Question About Hub

Is this an internal hub axle?

Just checking before I buy 8-lug outers....

That's a stock type hub for a 1/2 ton '68.

Well, whether it has disc or drum, the hub that we can see in the picture is the same on either.

Internal.

All 1/2 tons were internal. 3/4 tons up to '76 were external. '77 on up 3/4 tons were internal as well.

That summed it up nicely Beast...I thought it was internal but got crossed up w/ the 8-lug years!

1971 was the first year for disk brakes.......so yes the stock '68 axle would've had drums.

I'll be pulling it down w/ the 8-lug swap....so I'll have a better idea of what disc front was swapped in.

By the way, your Sub was one of the ones to get me wanting to swap mine over to 4wd!

Thanks for the compliment! I just need to find a body that isn't so "air conditioned" and then mine will be in much better shape!
