Ok, I have never been to a pick and pull before. I am wanting to go to look for a 14 bolt FF. just a real quick question, does anyone know a range of pricing on one of these axles or does it just depend on certain aspects like what year the truck is the axle comes out of, gear ratio, etc? probably a real easy question to answer i just figured id ask around here since a lot of y'all are more familiar with info on these axles than I am! :dunno:

Quick reference for you, I bought a NJ CUCV axle with detroit locker (4.56 gears) for 400

all depends on how much you're willing to pay

an a 3/4 truck with a 14bff is the best way to go, otherwise a 1 ton will need moding

simple huh :)

ive heard of them going for as low as $150. i paid $400 for mine with a new, in box, detroit locker.

The u-pull it here, rears are $99. IF you get one form a 1 ton you will just need to move the spring perches in 1 inch

If it's the Pick N Pull it will cost you $200 out the door, no matter what size as long as it's a rear with Drum brakes.
A disc brake axle is about $40 more.
Unless you realy need a specific axle that you can't find anywhere else and you are in a hurry, you probably can get them cheaper from a private party and it's already pulled for you.

or a junkyard that's doing a 50% sale on a holiday, that's when I normally go for large parts or complicated setups (IE: serpentine setup)

Yeah for some reason PNP is not doig many 50% anymore, they did on thanks giving, but I was busy then.
They used to do it on every holiday especially christmas and new years, not this year.:dunno:

bummer

Pick Your Part does it all the time, weekends at a time too.
My local Pick-A-Part does everything 50% on holidays, most Tuesdays & Wednesdays they do certain part categories for 50% off.

They made what, 6-7 million of these rearends I think. In the West, they are just about free, my last two actually were free. These were from private parties, open diff with 4.10 gears.

They are not rare at all, and they weigh so much that owners are often happy just to have someone came take them away, which is how I ended up with mine.

Thanks guys for all the references. Sounds like i need to hit up a sale! The only reason i asked this without calling around is because I suddenly had this idea over the holidays and with family over and the parts places closed i couldn't find any info out on it. I've searched local craigslist ads for months and haven't come across anything. so hopefully i will have decent luck tomorrow.
