quick question on cleaning air filter form with a diesel motor

most people say to use gas on that form ring but i have a diesel motor, so im wary, any other options?

I'd say gas or carb cleaner is OK,as long as you blow it all off good with compressed air,and its completely DRY before you go starting it up..
