Quick question

Greetings all, new here from Albuquerque NM and I just picked up an 89 Jimmy. My question is how can I tell what kind of rear-end and transfer case I have? I believe the tranny is the 700R4. I have been reading many posts and am very confused by what model has what!! Thanks for any help

An 89 is going to have a 700r4/241/10b

your transfer case will have or should have a red tag on the back side of the case. look at that and it will tell you. the 10 bolt in the back should also be 8.5" ring also if you go to the spec page on the home page it will show you all the stock specs for that year truck.
