Quick question......?

I am cleaning up the backend of my 52 Chevy and I have used Rust Cap and Rust-Oleum's Hammered products.

Will cleaning and spraying the "Hammered" Rust-Oleum on the outer drive shaft and differential be bad?

Which parts should I avoid......(other then the engine obviously )
