By all means keep the 12 bolt. The differential unit itself, now thats a whole other canof worms on this site. Im not sure what years the "gov-locs" frequented the chevy 4x4. But if that is what you have, and you dont do any hard core wheelin, then let it ride till you start having problems, but in the meantime start saving some money and replace the differential unit itself, with an Auburn or somethign of the like. OR you can go with a locker or whatever, depends on your taste of off-roading. But like I said, keep the 12 botl less you wanna sell it to me.
As for the 3.73's, what size tires you running? 3.73's will be ok up to 35's or so. Then again, depends on your flavor of wheelin.
