What do you use to re-seal the transmission tunnel ? The factory stuff is gone I remove and install fairly frequently. There is no carpet. I've got some ideas about what to use but i'm wondering what other people use.

Thank You.

I never resealed mine but I'd think a/c tape would work and be easy to find.

Go to lowes and buy a 1lb. block of thumb gum or duct seal.

Make a reeeealy long snake and use it to seal between the two.

Plumber's putty will make a water tight seal, although it will leave a greasy residue.

I use 3M "Strip-Caulk" butyl rubber strips on my old K-5 that had a removeable tunnel...seam sealer will work too,a cheaper source of butyl rubber can be had in the form of "Gutter-Seal" in caulking tubes from a hardware or home center store too..

I just used black silicone rtv. I take mine off every few years too. So that's what I had and it does the job. Comes off easy after you pull the tunnel off again too.
