I know in my awd car all tires must be within ~ 3/32's of each other or you will damage the awd t-case/trans. How about on a k5?

If I am running a set of new tires on the rear and old bald on the front will I jack up or bind up my t-case?

Same question if running 3 new and 1 bald spare?

Fwiw I am asking for my 87 k5 with np208 33x12.5x15.

Different front to rear wont hurt because the t-case is part time. When in 4wd I assume you'll be off road so you should have enough slippage to relieve any stress.

Different side to side is ok if the axle has an open diff, if a locker you'll need to keep the sizes the same.

I thought 203 's were part time?

that might be my problem. im having rear end issues, it keeps locking up. the tire on the right side has almost all the tread and the tire on the left side is almost bald.

i have a 76 with 203 not converted yet

Keep in mind that having 2 different brands will likely cause more difference than a few 32nds of wear will. Off road you will never notice it, but it can make things feel a little weird on ice since one of the tires has to slip a little.

Well in my case, a few 32nds is vastly understating it. :haha: They just above the wear bars. I was planning on replacing two at a time then keeping them as spares.
