Quick torque wrench question

I just got what seems like a decent deal on this model torque wrench brand new:

I didn't realize it but they say it's specifically designed for use on lug nuts but do you think it could be used just fine for normal mechanic work (I know I need another for lower torques)?

It appears to be the exact same design as this one (the 1/2" model) except for more protection from bumps and damage so I dont see why it couldn't be:

Let me know your thoughts on this tool (I know, I know, it's not as good as a Snap On :grin:).
