quick towing question???????????

Don't surpass the tongue weight of the trailer you're using. Don't overload the hitch as well. Owners manual should tell maximum "suggested" towing weight.
More specifics would help. Towing across flatlands is a lot easier than towing up some mountains. Automatic tranny might need a seperate cooler to keep that temp down.

Got a friend that has been towing his race car on a very heavy trailer all over 3 states (mountain passes and all) with a C1500 for the past 5 years or so. Not sure year, but it's pre-'96, and it has never once complained.
The tranny is what I'd be worried about, but his just doesn't complain.

It should work. Dont expect to break any land speed records, and be careful and allow ample room to stop. I would add a tranny cooler if you dont already have one just to be on the safe side. Just take 'er easy. Ive towed a 4x4 S-10 with a 2wheel ranger that had small 3.0 V-6. As long as the hitch and reciever is all rated to handle the weight.

I hope the trailer has brakes,and they are hooked up and working!..if so, I'd say the 1/2 ton would do it ok..a bigger truck would be better IMO..

I tow mine with a 1500 avalanche and have no problems. I do have the towing package with additional trans cooler though, so I agree about adding a cooler if you don't have it already.

ive towed a friends 84 blazer with my dads little 94 ranger before just keep the truck in D for the most part i would think. and look into a tranny cooler and be careful coming to a stop.
Check this guy out. I took this pic last year driving down I25 in Denver. He was driving 65mph.

i would not tow with it unless prperly equipped but yeah your decision just dont exceed weight limits, also i would say stay as far away from people like that lol

Key is to properly distribute your load. Do not exceed your max tow hitch rating. Dont over load your tongue weight.
and please, get a set of weight distribution hitches and sway bars. the difference is night and day.

yeah that is why i am trying to get set up now and that was all i could get was planned to get car trailer but that well fell through anywho that day was hell i dont know how i made that trip all i gotta say is equipment trailers suck and so do pintles lol
