What mods need to take place to run a TPI from a 305 on a 350?

Chip the ECM?
Injectors?

...?

Chip (PROM), injectors, ESC, knock sensor.

You could probably bump the fuel pressure up, but it's not the right answer. Without a wideband you'll never know if you are going lean at WOT.

What I was thinking, thanks for confirming.

I should clarify, bumping fuel pressure is a band aid for too low rated injectors and tuning. Not ESC/knock obviously. :)

You are better off getting a 350 setup so you have those parts, however, if the price is right, my opinion anymore is that you need to either have the original injectors tested, or replace them. I fought with a problem for quite some time that turned out to be weak/failed injectors.

It's usually best to replace the injectors on the old TPIs anyway since they weren't that hot when they were new and time doesn't help them out either.

I think I have a chip for a 350 system. It's marked ABWN 1606,(check on third gen and similar places to verify that it is for a 350) if it works you can have it. I don't mess with TPI systems much and I don't think I'll ever use it.

Thanks for the replies and offers guys, appreciate it.

I got asked about the scenario on another board by a guy who was looking at getting a 305 TPI for his ride with a 350 and thought it'd be a good idea to double check here, (knowing I'd get the right answers) before giving him any hard info. :wink1:

Now he can decide for himself knowing full well what he's getting into.
