if i made custom shock mounts with about 2 inchs of more travel , how would i go about buying new shox? having a 6inch lift should i get ones for an 8 in. lift??

Flex the truck out to full stuff and full droop. Take a tape measure and measure the distance the lower mount is from the upper mount at both positions and get the shock that most closely matches your numbers.

shocks are the same part # for a 6" to a 8" for stock style susp lifts with no major mods. so i would flex the rig like thay say and check it over.
