tryin to pass emissions, passed loaded hydrocarbons and O2's but didnt pass the idle hydro and O2's. it was 547/350 and 6.99/4.00. could i just retard my distributor to get them down or should i lower the idle? both??

Try turning the idle up instead. My old 355 ran dirtier the lower I set the idle. At 600 rpm idle it would fail over and over again on the idle test. When I bumped the idle to anything over 750 rpm it'd pass with flying colors...
