Ok, it's time to get my 5:13's for the 60 and 14ff...

I haven't read all the "reviews" for different gearsets, so what brands should I be looking at?

I want quality, but I also don't want to spend $400 a set...

I've used a whole bunch of different manufacturers: Spicer, GM, Richmond, Yukon (repackaged gears made in various places), PORC's brand (repackaged like Yukon), Motive gear and probably some others that I've forgotten.

The only one I've had trouble with is Richmond (in a 7.5" 10 bolt) and I should've searched the net before I tried that one. Apparently Richmond has a lot of trouble with miscut gears for the 7.5" 10 bolt.

I would stay away from Genuine gear, otherwise you should be fine.

When i bought my Yukon gears from Randy's Ring and Pinion they were factory GM gears in the box.

Thanks guys.....

just off the top of my head I seem to recall most of the gearsets where all comparable in price, except irrc, the Superiors where pushing 400...

I'll have to take a peek at what the various vendors I'm looking to buy from are offering..

When I bought mine (D44 and D60) from Randy's Ring and Pinion. I also bought axle shafts, and spools and bearing and seal kits at the same time. Randy specifically took care of me over the phone, I got all my stuff 6 days later in one big box, no problems. I don't remember the exact brand name, except for the Yukon shafts for my 60. get it all from Randy's. You won't go wrong.
