Race engines if you looking for one.

Any one looking at getting a modified 355 or 454s start looking around racing web sites and the local tracks. Every track in the south east is starting to use the Chevy crate motor, Its sealed from the factory and makes racing cheaper to get into. So all the race engines that have all the Good parts in them will start hitting the for sale block because they can not use to on the track. I have seen so far a 355 built with all the nice stuff that cost over 5500 sell for 800 bucks. All you would have to do is change the cam and maybe the pistons if you dont want a 10.1 engine. This is with a high performance ignition intake everything but carb.

Yes there was a rule change. The fact that racing has got out of hand on motor expenses and to keep the track open with more competors. http://www.acespeedway.com/LMSC%20Rules.htm is just one of many post on the subject. Thanks man, some interesting reading into some other combustion crazed crowd. My project crate motor gets bolted in next weekend. Darkshadow, hope we meet-up two weeks from now when you're in SoCa.

I doubt all tracks and classes are doing this. We have crate motor classes up here too, but they are just certain race classes that do it. My cousin is moving into a crate motor modified class. Should be a good way to build his skills.
