Ok, sorry about the title, I figured it would be best for anyone looking up roll cage harness mounting ideas. I looked up several variations, most just asking seat belt questions. I did get a couple pictures, which was awesome, but unless I missed a better thread, I'd like to start one here.

I could swear I've seen a good thread, or at least a link, talking about how to properly affix a 4 point racing harness to your roll cage.

Some ramblings of mine. Opinions, pictures, slaps in the face....all welcome. I'd like to get some ideas, not that the cage is currently in the works, but it will be some day. For now, just food for thought. :D I only have a B hoop and C hoop mounted. In the coming month (or so ) I will be tying the two together.

I bought some 2002 Subaru WRX seats. I really like how they feel, the side bolstering is excellent and I can still get in and out easy.

The rear is going to stay a bench. I will run tubing behind the bench, about shoulder height, and attempt to attach the upper 4 point harness there. The bottoms will go through the seats, to some kind of sandwiched plate in the floor. I must be able to remove the bench and leave the floor flat enough for sleeping. The tubing across shoulder height will also be removable. (it's a "load up the friends party truck, camping truck, take the boat to the lake with the dog truck, think I can climb some rocks or dunes truck")

The fronts will also have tubing just behind the shoulders, for the upper harness. The lowers will be tied into the roll cage tubing that runs along the floor, from A hoop to B hoop. I'm not sure yet how I will be mounting my seats. I want access to the rear bench, through at least the passenger side door. :dunno:

This is a good link too.

I know this thread is pretty old, but I had some questions about this. To get a proper hook up for the harness on the front seats you would need a bar going directly behind the seats. Wouldn't this make the back bench seat unusable with the camper top on? Has anyone mounted them on the floor or from the top of the roll cage?
