Rad Hose Probs... '91 Sub 5.7...

I went to Auto Zone last nite to buy upper and lower hoses. They asked my rad width, 34", and the hoses were WAY off, so we tried all the rad sizes, and no dice. Any thoughts?
We double chkd that for 4x4, and angles and lenght off...

Your problem is that radiators aren't measured by the full length, only the length of the core from inside the header to inside the header.

The hose you need should be Gates #21441

Your options are either a 26" or 34" radiator. Now go measure between the tanks and i'll bet yours is 26" wide and the overall width is probably around 31"

Hmmm... I thought 'bout that. The rad core is 29". we also tried all the hoses for all the sizes, I believe. The parts kid was good 'bout it...

Is Gates 21441 top or bottom? Should I try NAPA? I'll chk locater...

That is the upper hose. Assuming you have the 29" wide core then the hose in your first pic is correct and it's a trim to fit hose. I just recently dealt with this same issue only because i had the smaller radiator but was given the hose you have and the parts computer says "trim to fit".

Hmmm, but the angles and curves are different.. But might still fit. I thought about the cut, sometimes it'll have a white stripe "cut here"
