Radiaator Installaton

What I gathered from LMC on the phone is that the big block shroud front to back (thickness) is 5" at the top and 3 5/8 at the bottom and the small block chevy is 7 1/2" front to back (thickness)

I don't know....That tie wire isn't that rusty....Just spray with WD-40 and call it good.:D

As stated....LMC should be able to hook you up.

That's cool that LMC gave you dimensions. Can you get an idea how it will line up with your fan?

Does anyone know if the Chevy 454 and Chevy 350 water pump or fan center is the same? I want to order the fan shroud for the 454 as I believe it would be a better fit with the blade being partial in/out of the shroud, I just dont know if the fan share the same center?

I can't think that I have ever tried to find that out. I would be tempted to bet that the centers are the same, but no proof
I did swap a 6.2 diesel out for a 350 once, and had no problem with the fan.

Does anyone have info on converting to the 4 row radiator and running the big block shroud, in liu of hacking up the stock small block shroud to make it bolt up?

I don't know what your end goal is on looks, and I don't suggest it based on being more functional, but have you considered Windstar electric fans? Would certainly eliminate any issues with the mechanical fans and shroud.

Without putting a lot of thought into it, you'd have to know how much longer the BBC is than a SBC, then how long the fan clutch mechanism is/if there is a length difference BBC/SBC, and the depth of the SBC/BBC shrouds. Then add it all up, and see if one shroud is going to be better than the other.

I was able to get my rework completed, was just looking for another approach. I used the big block radiator plate and the rubber bushings. The top plate from LMC, shroud mounting holes spacing center to center was off quite a bit 1/4" + and the plate was very flimsy. The rubber bushing were of ok qaulity
