Radial TSL's

From what I heard and understand is that denman was making the majority of the tire that were over 35" and a couple specific tread designs so the bigger tire are what y'all are gonna have to wait for to come back to production.

You can get 40K + miles out of a set of SSR's if you rotate and take care of them. I'm on my second set.... and wouldn't own anything else. They are prefect.

Same for me, I got a TON of miles out of my SSR's before I sold them. I've been surprised how well Mickey T Baha Claws wear too that are on my heavy Dodge Cummins.

I'm interested in these 39.5" TSL radials that are talked about as I've never heard of a radial TSL larger than the 38's. The Irok's do come in a 39.5" radial.

Well i can't seem to find my pics when i sold them must have deleted them but i i found an old one of my truck with them on but it doesn't prove they say radial. But i am 99.9% positive they said radial on them.

also if anyone feels like sharing the experience with iroks or other 16.5 tires i'd be interested. All every one ever says around here about the iroks is that the sling a lot of mud and i'm not really concerned about that. more about noise on the road and drive ability as well as over all off road behavior.

i've heard the Irok's wear MEGA fast when seeing street duty..

that is correct on the irok from what i seen. f250 crewcab the old boss had. 10-mabye 15k miles if he was super easy.

Well..this is your tire. I'm suprised how quiet they are (for being a swampers) and very bad ass in the mud. See this link as well...only the bogger does more... http://www.4wheeloffroad.com/techarticles/mud_tires_tested/index.html

Iroks do wear out fast. I say no more than 15k if you are careful with them. In all reality though I know guys with 39.5s like are on your white truck there that only get the same amount out of em.

Big mud tires wear out fast.

Look at your tires though that is the tried and true TSL bias ply the radial TSL has a different sidewall design.

Why not a 42" Goodyear if you are concerned about street wear and a decent ride? And you want big ol tires :D

I'll bet you $100 that the tires in that picture are just the standard bias ply TSL. You can tell just by the profile of the tires since those have the typical bias ply "balloon" look on both the tread and sidewalls. Plus all of the radials had a unique sidewall design on them.

definitely look like the bias to me... you can see the radial sidewall pattern on the 38's in this shot....

oh, there bias, I have those 39.5 on my rig right now in a 15" rim and a 38/15.5/16/5 radial as a spare in the back. Different tire...Wish those 38 radials were still in production, I need a set for the street to ditch these 39.5 bias plys.

do they make a 40" yoko for a 16.5 inch rim, I don't think they do. I will most likely go with the 38" TSL radial when they come back or the SSR (just don't like the ugly sidewall pattern.. I know its dumb but im picky) I just swear i had 39.5 radial and i agree about the sidewall but it doesn't match the bias sidewall either so what ever drugs im smoking must be some good stuff

Thats the problem with a 16.5 no new tire coming out unless its a super swamper or Pit bull is going to have a 16.5 at all. They are gone as far as most tire company are concerned.

why is every one avoiding the 16.5 tire sizes just lack of demand or is there actual disadvantages. I just bought some 12bolt H1 so i will be sticking with the interco tires for awhile

Lack of demand I think. A new truck hasn't come with a 16.5" tire size for a very long time now. Pretty sure around the mid 80s

Look at Pit Bulls too, its what I run and I love em they have 16.5 sizes but suffer from the same problem Interco is having right now

16.5" wheels have a bead lip design that just does not stay seated very well. Usually not a problem if you keep higher pressures but they will slip off the rim much easier than the 15,16, or 17" wheel design. There is more to it than just running lower pressures off-road. When doing an evasive manuever on the road it is a lot easier for the bead to come off and that almost guarantees a roll over.

As far as Irok's go. I just replaced a set of 36" radials on my 97. I got 40-45k out of them with a crappy alignment for about half of that. Maintenance on these tires (rotations, air pressure) is key. They are noisy, like airplane prop noisy, but I have found them to be good in the mud, street, ice, snow, sand, and general trail use. I had the 36x13.50x20, but I stepped down to the 35x14.50x20.
