radiator fan question

today i noticed that right after starting the engine, my radiator fan seemed to be running at full speed, even though the engine was cold.

do these trucks have clutch driven fans that should reduce fan speed at low temp, or are they a direct drive fan that will always run regardless of engine temp?

sorry about the question, i am fairly ignorant about these trucks.

It is a clutch driven fan, but the startup thing is normal. Whether it is my Blazer or my Astro, the thing sounds like a jet engine when it first fires up, after about a minute or so it stops and works as it should.
