Radiator looking a lil Muddy inside. What is a good DIY flush ?

Thanks

I haven't kept up on chemical flushes, so can not help with those.
Reverse flush, both the engine and the radiator, but do each separately. Also if your heater core is old you may want to do it separately and much gentler.
Remove t stat to flush engine.

muriatic.. at your discretion depending on part condition, questionable rad, etc..... it's potent.. but I've been doing it for decades in various apps... first you need to fully heat/flush with water.. if you are not pulling the NPT plugs out of each side of the block, don't even bother IMO...

run heat cycles till water stays clean... than add water till almost full, add a qrt or 2 of muriatic acid.. the more you add, the more aggressive your attack....

hardware store will sell it by the gallon.. top off with water.. close, and run until up to temp, than another 5 minutes.. shut down.. wait 5 minutes, drain..

i do the petcock first while hot.... when no pressure, pop the rad cap... when you feel it's safe finally the 2 block drains.. rinse everything with water... i'll actually pull the hoses and backflush everything with the garden hose, rad and block... refill with water.. cycle, drain.. refill with 50/50.... Mutt's block was so full of sludge I probably flushed that rig a 1/2 dozen times..
