I need a new radiator. I currently have a 383 in my k5. I know I'll put in a 454 in the future. Anyone know of a one that would work for both? Becool have something???

I'd use an OE 4 row, it's a direct bolt up. If you feel you need something really big get a rad from a 6.2, it'll work with some hose mods.

I've been looking for a 4 row but can't find it. only thing I've come up with is a large 2

When and if you need to take your rad to a rad shop and they will take a look at it and tell you if it can be recored to a 4 core.Ive never had one say no.I think they all use the same tanks but not sure about that.

The one from LMC has plastic side tanks, the 4 core that is, do not get it!!

I don't have more than 200 miles on it, so I can't really say I've tested it. Only time will tell. I don't like plastic tanks either, but I didn't have the cash for some guchi one either.

might wanna take a peak at Summit's AL rads..... nice quality at a very reasonable price.. made by Northern iirc.... i'll take a nice 2 row al over a 4 core anyday...

is your truck staying cool??
yes it was, even for only having half the radiator full. My truck had a bad head gasket or something and was blowing coolant out the reservoir. Had a cylinder full of coolant.

So, with the 400sb going in, I shall see if it holds up.

i ran built 400 sbc with factory 3 core rad and no shroud . ran 210 all the time in town / highway / play.

I bought an aluminum radiator from Engineered Cooling Products on evilbay for my GTO. I had it in for about a month and it started leaking. I sent it back to the guy and he sent me a new one. Had in in for about a year now with no problems. And, for just over $200, I thought it was a pretty good deal.

I don't see a listing from them for our trucks (73-79).
