part of the fan shroud on my new POS shot into the radiator and it now leaks from a line running across the vents. can this be repaired? or do i need a whole new radiator?
how about if i, temporarily, pull the cut line out of the venting, cut the ends, and use some small rubber hose and clamps to connect it back together?
It might be a better idea to pinch it all together real tight so that the leak is as small as you can get it, and then put in some radiator stop leak. That barsleak is amazing stuff.
The hoses may not seal well. Since the ends are not barbed, when it gets hot and the radiator tries to pressurize, it could push off a rubber hose.
I fixed a radiator out in the sticks once by pinching the hole together and gobbing it with silicon. It worked too.
Back in High School we changed a water pump once and forgot to put in the gaskets. We didnt want to tear it all apart again. Two bottles of that stuff and it lasted for a few years. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
