Besides needing to shim the radiator up (pull up front of rad support lip with crow bar, i think i bent it down stepping in and out of engine compartment) or bend the mounts down, I think these mounts will work

My question is, I think the rubber material (from a rubber bed mat) I`m using is too stiff. Is there something better I should be using?

I think as long as the radiator is isolated from the vibrations of the truck you should be fine. I've used chunks of weather striping (the stuff in the door jambs), old bike tubes, rubber bed mat, piece of wood, and I think a rag once. I seem to loose one every time I take a radiator out. :doah:If it makes you feel any better, just go to a junkyard and find some out of pretty much any vehicle that has that style of mounting.

Hmm. Maybe some thick strips of the weather stripping for windows when you put the ac in?

I don't know how well the foam type stuff would hold up. Though I have seen it use between the radiator and the ac condensor before.

well, I bought a roll of the thick rubber foam stuff from home depot, say's that its resistant to tearing, and doesn`t compress alot so it won't flatten out over time. give it a shot...

Maybe some thin walled heater type hose so it will compress as much as you like and still control the vibs.:dunno:

hmmmmm. So slit it, and wrap around the radiator? Not sure if it will bw thick enough to fit under the mount...I think I`m misunderstanding it....

I was thinking about cutting a pice that is about 1 inch in diameter and cut it to fit it between the two ears on your brackets so it is perpendicular (sp) to the radiator. Get the thin walled so it compressed easily. Don't know if that was clear or if it would work but just a thought

Or

Just thought of this or maybe someone already said it: Go to Depot in the door isle and get some of theat foam weather stripping that has the adheasive backing . Look for the widest you can find and about 1/2-3/4" thick. I bet thats the ticket right there. Post up what ever you do. And great looking brackets BTW.

got two rolls of the stuff, in the thickest they have it (7/16") so hopefully that will work. :wink1:

Oh, and thanks man :bow: That's pretty much my first attempt at fab work, definitley made me feel alot better hearing the compliments :wink1::wink1:
