ok guys i bought a '83 3/4 ton GMC and it originally had the 6.2 diesel in it along with it's humungous radiator. Well they've since replaced the 6.2 with a GM 350 and the motor side of the hoses are a little smaller. Anyways they used the stock hose halfway and put in a piece of pipe and hose clamped it all together to make like an adapter. Jerry-rigged but it works

i'd like to do away with that and just get a hose to go from the huge outlets on the radiator to the smaller inlet (thermostat housing) and water pump.

Is there anywhere to get these or did most just put in a smaller radiator.

I'll take pics if needed tomorrow.

Thanks guys

it's possible but that still doesn't help me on the water pump side. I just need a reducer hose thing. kinda like pipes

Either change radiators or use PVC as the reducer inbetween hoses,it wont rust.

I have a Lg an Sm piece of PVC pipe and 4 hose clamps as an emergency repair, for rad and heater hoses.

yeah that's what they have in there now. PVC and hose clamps i just think it's kinda a temp fix and was looking into more of a cleaner lookin setup. I guess i'll run it til something goes awry

That's what I'm afraid of. I don't need to spend $9 a gallon cause i can't find the right parts.
$9 Where are you getting it for that? Here its at least $12 a gal.
Unless its like Dollar Store brand

hey randy i got a radiator in the shed im not using,if ya need it. I might have the hoses too.
Well i got radiators i just hate to give up such a big one like is in there now. I actually have 2 smaller ones :D

so they sell 2 for $12 and 1 for $15?? That makes perfect sense

:haha: marketing

I wonder what the 5.7L diesels used for radiator hoses?

I know I've seen hoses out there with "expanded" ends on them, just can't remember for what. It was for a GM car or truck, I know that much for sure.

I reckon i might look into that. ;)

don't swap radiators, i have a 86' k5 with a 350, it had a 6.2, radiator is still in k5. i'll have to look and see if theirs a brand and part # on my hose, trust me, you can not beat a cooler running engine, and you can tell a difference.
