I ordered a new shroud from LMC truck.
Question for anyone with a 1st gen, specifically a 1970 gmc jimmy 4x4 or 1970 chevy blazer with no ac.

How far apart are your two radiator hold downs?

Mine are about 25 inches. But the shroud I got from lmc the 2 holes for screws are only about 18 inches.

!st thing you hold down is not in the correct place. It is actually going to end up wider. Those clamps need to be over the tank/core seam. Has radiator been up sized ?

No it's stock. This is where they were when I got it. I guess I can move then over. Not sure why previous owners drilled 2 new holes I was wondering when I put it back together.

Yes it looks like the supports would be in correct spot if you moved them

so that tells me a fatter rad has been installed. try 1 from a square and see if it fits. the whole rad looks square to me

It looks like you have standard radiator brackets with a heavy duty (4 row) radiator.
If it is a radiator intended for a '67 to '72, the lower neck, (outlet) will have an upward bend so that the hose doesn't run into the frame rail. It also larger than later trucks.
'73 and up have a straight lower neck, and the lower hose has a bell at the water pump to reduce the size down for the radiator neck.

Yes its got the upward bend on the lower hose spout

So maybe you just need the proper clamps for the thicker radiator. They are being reproduced.
I possibly have a set stashed somewhere, but you will need the rubber cushions too, so possibly a better deal on shipping and everything from a company.

Unless I'm missing other pieces to this radiator. I didn't see any spots at the bottom to hook it to if I flipped it over

Looks like I can get a 4 core set for 40 bucks from classic industries.
Anyone got some pictures of how their shroud bolts up on a 1st gen?

on the bottom rail near where the lower retainers fit in the valley that holds the radiator there should be some clips that the bolts go into.

These guys are correct, the wider mount points go to the hold down clamps.
The bottom bolts to the bottom lip of the radiator support as @70jimmy said.

And the tank seam on a 4 row radiator is approximately 3.25" across where the hold down clamp would go. Maybe a little more.
