Radiator switch

My son crashed my '78 Suburban. I found a good deal on an '88 [same body style].
Both have 454s.
The radiator in the '88 is shot. Thr radiator in the '78 is near-new. The '88 has a heater hose fitting on the passenger side tank. The other one does not.

The '88 has throttle body injection. One heater hose goes to the throttle body & the other to the radiator tank.

Any idea if the heater hoses can be rerouted with the TBI, to allow use of the earlier radiator?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Both are pretty much doing the same thing.

I was asking if anyone found room to connect the second heater hose to the TBI manifold. It's significantly different than a carbureted manifold.

If you don't use the heater hose connection on the radiator, then you simply route the hose to the top of the water pump, there is a plug in it where you can install a fitting to accept a heater hose, then the other hose goes to the intake manifold.

Little bit off the subject but may be related and may help him. But on my heater hoses, one goes to the rad and the other goes to the intake. Can I take the one off the intake and move it to the water pump instead?

Yes, if you want to bypass your heater core.

The intake manifold supplies hot water to the heater core, comes out of the heater core to either the water pump or the radiator. if you want to bypass your heater core you simply run the intake directly to the water pump or directly back to the radiator.
