Ok working on a 88K5 Blazer with a semi-built 350TBI. Its equiped with a 19" tall radiator. She has ac/and a tranny cooler. What I am wondering is can we use a big block 4 core? If so what model, year, and engine size? I have a kick a$$ contact at this radiator place and we are trying to make it work out for the folks on this site.

Off chance you wouldnt know how many cores were in it would you? Cores are the little rows of metal pipe that flow the rad. fluid around to cool them. We want four core( 4 rows ) since its a hauler and slow speed rig with a/c. Its got a three core but it ran too hot last year. Changed out the thermostat and suff, even got a seperate tranny cooler to cut down on heat. All of it helped, just not enough to satisfy my client.

Look up the part number for a Suburban of that same year with the 454 and towing package. That should be a 4-row radiator.
I've got a healthy 383 in my K5 and it runs cool with the stock 3-row radiator. I had the radiator rodded and boiled to make sure that coolant was really going through all of the tubes. Are you sure that your client's radiator is working at 100%?
He got it rodded and took the rig to me after he got away from the shop. Normal driving city/hwy is fine she hovers in the 180-200 depending on a/c. When we add the boat or camper she goes over to 220 and up. he boiled it over following me to the Shenandoahs last year. I am installing a high flow water pump after we install the new radiator. A brand new radiator for the truck three row to my door 169.99 and my guy is taking $5 off. He wanted to know what radiator would work for us in big block. So we can figure the price. As it stands the Big Block radiators cost me 189.99 to my door. I just want to get this thing done right without killing my clients bank account.

I believe the Diesel radiators are the largest you can get that came factory. I know mine was huge. It went almost from one battery to the other!!!!!!!! Plus it came up over the core support some too!!!!
Definately find one of these. Mine is an 82 Jimmy that originally came with a diesel....

I used normal hoses to route it for a diesel to my SBC.... There are a couple extra supports coming out from the core support on the ends(just made of plastic) and it extended up fro the core support about an inch or so...
It cam within about 3 inches of each battery tray... I know you can get them at places like Auto Zone for about $360.... Or my junkyard said he could get a good used one for $100....
I would have to say it was roughly:
30"-31"L x 20"-21" tall... And was a four core I believe which was about 3"-4" wide.....

Don't you need to change the core support to really make the diesel radiator fit properly? I thought that parts of it get blocked with the core support from a gas rig.
