So I bought a new aluminum radiator from Summit and installed it last night. My dumb ass ended up cross threading the threads for one of the transmission lines.. I took it to my local radiator shop to see if they can re-thread it. If they can and I should I go with an aux tranny cooler or all new radiator. Will the aux tranny cooler work as well or better than the radiator. I am keeping my fingers crossed and should hear something by lunch.

Something similar to this was gone over here recently. Not only does that cooler cool the fluid, it also heats it.
When you start up the truck with the temps in the teens, the engine gets the transmission fluid up to temp quickly.

In general, the cooler you keep an auto transmission fluid, the longer the life of the fluid and transmission, but there are limits.

If they can't clean up the threads, then some of those coolers can be removed by removing one of the radiator tanks and a used one installed.

But, it depends on the radiator.

Edit: Found the link.
