I want to raise my engine up 1". Currently using the clamshells with poly inserts. Would it be possible to just put a 1" spacer between the frame and the clamshell mount? Or will this not let the engine line up correctly anymore?

For those wondering why I want to do this, about to install a doubler and want a flat belly.

Other then moving the engine cradle up an inch no to many other ways to do it and not get the geometry all screwed up.

The way the motor mounts in the vehicle angle the added 1" will move them closer together.

You need to find a way to move everything up without it moving in.

yes you could move it up 1" any things possible but it would change a hole lot of things.

Like tilt and or move the fan, space around the dizzy,Hose lengths, exhaust issues(pushing pipes closer to body), mess up drive line angles(might do this anyway if doing a doubler) linkages( may be not and issue if manual trans)

May be some more I left out.Could you clock the doubler to flatten things out??

He's building a buggy of sorts so a lot of that isn't a real concern

All ready have a 1" body lift so moving the engine/trans/tcases up is not a problem. Fan will be back in the correct place, and a manual trans so no issue there. Exhaust will be redone anyway.

Guess there is no simple way to do this.

Your best bet is going to make a plate that bolts to the existing mount and has off set holes for the motor mount to accommodate for the 1" raise. This should not be that difficult to accomplish.
