I want to raise the tank. I have a 2" body lift and would like the tank raised 2". Anybody seen this or done it. I know Colby has done it. There is 2 crossmembers i woild need to trim amd raise up, but looking for ideas.

Thanks.

Na, this is doable, I know it. Even with my measly tools and freshman high school fab skills. I think I just need to raise and trim 2 crossmembers.

It would be sweet to have it tucked up more. And a 40 gallon fuel cell would be expensive!!

Cut stuff off, raise it up, simple as that :haha::haha::haha::haha::haha:

obviously harder in practice but thats what you do

I raised mine a couple and moved it forward a couple....takes some finessing of the welded seam to get it done.

Awesome Zimmer!! That's what I was looking for. I am planning on using bolts and spacers since all I own is a grinder. But that looks perfect. Do you think it was worh it? I would think so. Nice work!

Yeah Jeff I do...I had to fock around with the mounting quite a bit to get it VERY secure. The brackets I made to hold the tank in place took a little time, but the tank isn't moving around at all. The cushion strips I used I think are a must to avoid metal to metal contact, and the seam was a bit of a bitch to fold over to clear the frame...the stock positioning puts the seam below the frame rails. I have about 1/4" of clearance around the tank and frame. I have a 2" body lift also, and had to cut out the top of the tank (the riser portion) and have it replaced with a flat piece, and also had to reposition the filler neck, and I still had to cut the floor to make sure nothing rubbed....overall perhaps a fuel cell would have been better, or raising the rear floorpan a couple inches to accomodate the tank better. Good luck.
