I just put some new tires on, and had a set of steel wheels blasted and powder coated. Now I need to get a set of the GM rally trim rings. Can anyone post a picture of what the authentic ones look like? There are several different styles on eBAY.

also, how do the trim rings attach? Do they just press in and have some tabs that stick out? I am curious if they are going to tear up my freshly done wheels!

little fingers and yess the rims will get chewed up every time you pop them on/off.

I am planning on doing mine white and no rings just for this reason.

I like them with and without. I think in your case I wouldn't run them.
In this day and age I think they look cleaned and maybe bigger without the rings

Agree, they definitely tear up the wheel. There are a BUNCH of the little fingers, and they make a mess of the wheel. They DO grip well with that much tension, I tore one of mine up on a rock, and it stayed put.

All the stock parts are Stainless. If you do decide to go this route, don't buy some cheap chromed knockoff.

Here's a pic of one of the factory original wheels from our '86 Blazer - the rings will definitely gouge the rim. I also vote to leave them off, your rims are too nice.

after cleaning mine up with a scotch brite pad, I put the factory rings back on to hide the scratches (so they should look like this if you do decide to get rings)...which should be correct for an '86. I'm not sure if the profile changed for any of the other years.

I'm thinking of putting the center caps back on but for some reason they keep rattling so I got lazy and just leave them off.

These are the wheels on my '76 with original un-restored wheels. The trim rings are buried out in the garage, but have spring type clips on the back that correspond to the marring on the wheels
