Ran out of gas/Gas tank cap


They also sell a Delco cap for a 1985 K5 that is "vented". They are all vented, they aren't lying, it just depends what their idea of vented is. I've never heard of a sealed cap for these trucks.

As I thought, the listings cannot be trusted.

And saying CA along with "emissions" most likely means EVAP. Someone may know for sure, but those were not good times for commonality in emissions components (in other words, I can't keep track of all the variables for emissions that vintage).

The one on the bottom is sold as “vented” the top says vented as well... so???

Tough not having them in my hands, but the bottom one looks less complicated. Can you get it to operate as if it was venting pressure from inside the tank?

The upper one just use your mouth to try and blow through the five holes. If you cant do it, it's not properly vented for a non-evap tank. I THINK you should be able to do a vented one with lung pressure...I want to say I was able to.

Just by looks alone, I think the bottom one is correct.
