This is teh big week where I have time to reassemble the inside of my K. Lots to do,and I'll update my build thread as I go.

However, I want to plan ahead. I have all sorts of wires, as you all know, running from front to back. My rug long ago went ca ca, and I am putting in Monstaliner this week. If I can avoid putting in a carpet, I will.

But...I want to hide the wires. So, my first question of the week is:

1. Should I drill a hole and run them under the floor? I assume they'll get gunked up and rotted out.

2. Should I run them under the side panels (which are currently off) and under the plastic B pillar interior trim, around by the headliner, down the front A pillar interior panel, and onward from there?

3. Leave as is, suck it up and get a carpet for the front half that will hide them, but also not be nearly as washable as Monsta would be?

Any and all thoughts are welcome. This is the big week to "get er done". Thanks, guys.

Where ever they will be easiest to access later.

Depending on how many wires, and where they have to go, consider some PVC conduit.
If it may see deep water, you need to either drill some drain holes or make sure the ends are high enough to avoid water.

Otherwise, as long as you avoid high heat, the wires should be well protected.
You can run the conduit inside the frame, clamped to the outside of the frame, or where ever is easist.

You can either add sweep bends, or just heat it gently and bend it to fit where you need it to go.

Splices or joints should be in J-boxes with covers so that they can be accessed.

Such as this.

Make sure you leave a pull string or two in when you are putting the wires in for future stuff.

Regarding cybrfire's response, I assume going through the side panel and up and around would be something easy to access...assuming there's room. More about that below.

I have wondered about the conduit before...anyone done that here? I do house wiring all the time, so fishing is like second nature...but anyone here have success with it?

So, NOW, I have any standard stock wires. I expect to add new speaker wire, too, maybe for one set of speakers in back.

However, in the future, I would like a 12 volt outlet and perhaps a compressor back inside a side panel in back. Anyone have experience running toys out of the bed? For instance, if I added just those two components on top of what I already have with wires, does that a lot more? Or, would it make sense to run a channel with all stock-ish stuff, and then a different channel later for what I need as I see fit?

Thinking as I type now, I'm wondering if running stock stuff overhead and going in a channel with new stuff might be the way to go. Thoughts?

through the floor, however, I have seen a few friends mount regular 3/4" Pvc plumbing pipe to the outside of the frame rail, and use a grommet and flex hoses with connector to make the hole water tight. this keeps the wiring from hanging, gives better protection against jagged rocks, and hides the unsightly look of jumbled wires.

Does anyone have any pics of this being run in the frame rail with PVC? I'm trying to wrap my feeble mind around how to do it without makingmy head explode:

1. How do the items attach to the inside of the frame rail: does securing it loosen the frame at all? I mean, are you using regular channel and those hose-clamp-looking screw-downs?

OK, I guess that was my only question.
