Ok on my 203 range box I am using in my doubler I was having a problem with it popping into neutral while coasting. Wouldn't do it all the time just sometimes.

tried to go wheeling one day and the range box would not go into hi or low if you shifted it in it would make a sound like the shift fork was not engaging properly as if there wasn't enough travel in it

took everything apart and everything in the range box appears to be good to go. the shift fork moves plenty and hits its detents. I am assuming the problem would be in my shifters (homemade)

any other problems in the range box I should be looking for?

i am no expert on them. but i just tore 1 all down and back to gether for my doubler build.

thay are simple inside and if it looks good i say it is prob good.

there is a detent spring and it might be week or bad possible letting it jump out of gear.

i would double check the shifter setup first then go to the range box next.

Yup, shifter side there is a largish hex head bolt. This bolt holds the detent spring. I had the same problem with a completely rebuilt range box. I removed that bolt, added a washer under the detent spring and put it back together. Easy 5 minute fix and that stopped mine from popping into nuetral...

The left side of the pic, you can see the part of the case that sticks out. You can just see the head of that bolt in this pic...(right above the adaptor bolt)

You can sorta see the same area in this pic.
