....you run out of oxygen on a Sunday, when you still have a bunch of cutting left to do, and plenty of day left. Sucks. Now I have to wait to get another O2 tank from AirGas tomorrow. And the acetylene has plenty left. Sucks.

that is why i own my bottles. i have a 4ft acy and (2) 5 ft oxy bottles. just for that reason. as i like to cut and weld on weekends. thay say 2 oxy bottles for every acy bottle. i also have (2) 3 ft argon/co2 mix welding bottles. then if all else fails i have a little port a tourch setup.

I weed eat the local AirGas while my Gf's dad cuts the lawn with his Xmark mower.

A plasma is tits, but you can buy ALOT of oxygen for how much that costs.. :D

Been there...more than one sunday too!..3 ways to eliminate this dilema..

1. Buy oxogyen on FRIDAY !!
2.Use a sawsall instead if at all possible,or a grinder with a cutoff wheel.
3. Say F*** it,and have a beer instead!..not supposed to work on sunday anyway,remember?...:p: :haha:

I've used my arc welder in a pinch to cut thick steel or blow bolt heads off--used 6011 rods that were soaked in water for 10 minutes..turn amperage up high,200 amps cuts 1/2" bolts quickly!!..I used it on my plow many times to change cutting edge bolts, when I ran out of oxogyen..

I wish they had an oxogyen "maker" machine, like emphasema patients have to make oxogyen, for our welding tanks, rather than have to buy it at THEIR convenience!...I say welding stores should have sunday hours..our local Airgas dealer closes both saturday and sundays now!..:doah:

Top off the Acetylene while you're there, cause it's next.

buy a plasma cutter, and never worry about running out again.

LOTTA things a torch can do that a plasma can't. For just cutting they are awesome.

You could get one of the oxygen makers that they sell to old people with bad lungs. Fills bottles and everything right in your own house. Never have to pay for ox again... Probably really pricey tho. I dunno I might be drunk. LOL
