Hi everyone, my '77 blazer developed a noise today. From 15MPH and up I am getting a ratcheting type noise from the front end while coasting and decel. It has a part time conversion on it with manual hubs. Earlier it would only stop if I unlocked the hubs and put in in 2wd, but on the way home I noticed it is now mostly gone if I just put it in 2wd. Also on the way home I noticed that if I hit the brakes hard I would get a loud clunk from the front and the noise would stop temporarily 30% of the time. We are getting a good amount of snow at the moment so I needed to be in 4wd so god only knows how much worse I have made it with my drive home.

Any ideas on what the problem is?

Thanks,
Mike
