I thought I would share this with my fellow wheelers here. I know Craftsman is not the quality they were when I first started buying tools and many people that turn for a living won't touch them now but these ratchets are still American made and are part of their industrial line and are cheap. I don't believe they are in stores and you have to order them.

That seems REALLY cheap. What's the catch?

Going to give them a shot. For $15/ea after shipping, worth a shot.

Thanks!

According to some of the comments, the line is being discontinued so no lifetime warranty. Maybe that's the catch?

if you pick them up at sears it is free shipping, of course; if you are like me I live 35 miles outside of town

Could be true. Although, what does discontinuing the line have to do with their warranty? That seems bass ackwards, but probably true

Maybe i bought the last one. :haha:

Link still works for me.

Weird, now it works. Let me buy a couple. I got 2 3/8 and a 1/2. Ive always wanted a finer tooth ratchet for tighter spaces. Idk how "tight" 42 or whatever is. But im sure its way better than a standard one.

I needed another 1/2" so I picked up one of those and a 3/8" for $22. Sears is right down the street from my office :D

Thanks for the heads up

42 tooth is not tight at all. In fact that might be standard.

70+ is a fine tooth ratchet. I think my good gear wrench ones are like 80 something and king snappy has 90 or even 100 tooth ones.

Well, at least they are shiny :haha:

Most of my ratchets seem like they can go 20 degrees or so before it even clicks.
So I'm sure it will be better than that. Mine are all crappy.

AFAIK, if you need to warranty it later, you'll get a substitute ratchet as close to what you have as possible.
