Every "semi-gloss" paint I've tried turns out more "gloss" than what OEM looks like.
Anyone found a real semi-gloss spray paint?
VHT Roll-bar paint, Rustoleum Semi-gloss black, etc. all look shinier than factory under body paint.
I even tested flat and it's too dull.
Thanks for any help.

I've got the 7777 Rustoleum and thought it was too shiny.

Might just go ahead and use it if it's the closest I can get.

Thanks.

I can't say I've ever thought it was shiny and I've sprayed dozens of cans over the years. Maybe it was still kinda fresh?

The shiny may be a good thing as mud, dirt etc. would not stick to it as much. Although too shiny doesn’t look right or match

I buy semi gloss rustoleum professional by the case. It's perfect for that imo.

Isn't an actual chassis black paint more of a satin finish than a semi-gloss?

Yes, your right. I stand corrected.

That looks good! Maybe I need to let it cure longer. That should be okay since I'm planning on doing the entire underside and engine compartment (inner fender wells, etc) in the same paint.

I painted my son's truck frame with the 7777 and it sure looked shinier than that but I didn't check it after the second day because he put the bed back on.

Thanks everyone!
