Alright guys, it's time for an East Coast get together. The Midwest has the Hillbilly Party, the West Coast has Blazer Bash, and we've got nothing. Myself, Richcz28, jt512, and newoldscottsdale77 have been talking about planning a big trip at Rausch Creek Offroad Park in the spring. Plans for the trip are Memorial Day of 2015- May 22-25. Basically what we want to do is create a weekend where CK5'ers of all sorts can come hang out, wheel, and have a good time.

If you've never been to the park, Rausch has a lot to offer. There is free camping on premises. With over 3000 acres of trails, there are trails from mild to wild and everything in between. Tentative plans are to show up Friday, wheel Saturday and Sunday, and boogie home on Monday. We will be doing some semi-guided runs, as in we will have a couple of trail leaders to guide newcomers through the park. ALL types of vehicles will be welcomed- while this is a primarily full-size site, wheeling is wheeling.

Let's make this a good trip. Go here for pictures from past wheeling trips:

Hmmm. A weekend to do something like that would be awesome but Ive got no rig lol. Perhaps I'll cruise the street machine out there and take an extra seat if someones got one :thumb:

3270 miles round trip. 8 mpg. $3.70 per gallon. $1500 in fuel for the tow rig. $200 for the Jimmy.

Eileen will be in DC with her car then. Maybe I should fly out and drive her car up.

Or drive the Blazer out there.

I really want to make this, just not sure how many wheeling trips I can do in one year with out making the wife upset.

I will be the first to commit to this historic event. I will probably have an open seat as there are few brave enough to ride with me :D

we did one of these a few years ago (like 7 now lol) on here. We did it in the summer before the comp corse was even built. It was called east coast summer crawl.

I may be able to make it, I do know main jambo at big dogs rolls around sometime around then so money prevailing and it banana is ready to go or not.

There's usually a few open seats depending on who comes. i can always throw my back seat in, although you may fall through the floor

I think this may be my new goal to finish my truck. I'd love to try out rausch creek and my truck. Time to hit the wrenches

I would love to say my truck will be done for this but I don't think it will. Not going to say it is impossible but not likely.

I will definitely be there but probably riding with newoldscottsdale77.

I doubt my truck would be ready but I could bring my Geo Tracker lol

Got a few other trips for 2015 in the works (fingers crossed on the Hillbilly party) so I won't be able to do this in 2015

This sounds like a great trip
I will have to see what my work schedule is like for that time frame

Lets revisit this as the time gets closer. I'd like to make this as well. If Wade wants to fly and gweak did too, I could supply transportation and make this whole trip a little less expensive for all of us.....:thumb:

The biggest things are these trips are not a day or two, they are almost a week.

Don't you have a local buddy "willing to do some work on your rig"? Take the rig and trailer over there a few days before this "business trip" starts. Then take the Duramax to "park at the airport" while you're gone.

:pimp::haha:

Meh. I want to enjoy the wheeling trips and not rush them. I would like to arrive a day in advance just in case something goes wrong. Too much rushing and cramming stuff into 1 or 2 days takes the fun out of it.

Like the hillbilly party. I plan on going thurs-sun next year.
