I got pulled out of a mud hole by my leaf spring and now it sits low. I want to go get it re arched but I don't know if they will know how far to arch it? Any ideas? I was thinking about taking in both rear springs and having them matched.

If you have it done by a spring shop they will have the specs to re-arched. Take both spring packs and they will match them.

that is true and remember that they will rearch themself after a year or so it matters how much u wheel and if u have a BIG BLOCK

for all the money /time and effort spent on rearch toss them out thay are done. re arch wont last long and its just a band aid.

search this on here its been covered lots of times.

if you have a good spring shop thay have all the books and you can flip threw and find a nice factory pack with diffrent arches and spring thicknesses and quanity . there was lots and lots of diffrent ones offered over the years.

and you can pickup the gm 88-up style front tow hooks from the dealers in a box kit with 2 hooks / 2 plates / 4 bolts for around 30 bucks. and thay mount flat and only need to holes.

No tow points on your truck? You fail wheeling 101. :D

I wouldnt rearch your springs, like others have stated they will go back to being screwed up in short time.

Like others said, the re-arch is a band aid. Another decent band-aid is to throw an add-a-leaf in that pack. It helps the weakened spring go back to where it used to sit and doesn't even require the spring pack to be removed.

I would suspect that the spring was actually bent, not that it somehow loss some arch under those circumstances.

In any case, you could probably go pick up a spring pack at the junkyard for what it would cost to get it re-arched.

I needed a pair of new front leafs for my truck about 3 years ago. 10 years of holding up a massive front bumper and 12K hydraulic winch while jumping over trees and running through potholes at speed had finally taken their toll.
I shopped around, and everybody wanted WAY too much for one much less a pair.
Then I ran up on this site. http://www.espo.com/
Their price for the pair was less than half what other folks wanted for one.
So cheap, in fact, I overrode my normal rule of "you get what you pay for"
I could afford to buy a set and try them.
3 years gone, holding up great.

Depending on how much a rearch job costs, why not take that money and invest in some aftermarket springs, say, 2" or 2.5" of your favorite name brand instead.

As quoted above, rearch jobs are just temporary fixes and the springs will settle/sag again over time.

Can't add more than what every one else said except for I have a set of factory J hooks sitting here if you want them they are yours just pay shipping.

Thanks guys. I think I am going to wait and buy spring after my up coming trail ride. Wanted to fix it before then but chit happens. As far as tow points I am installing a winch and clevises now. I had a set up on my rear bumper but someone thought they could get a 50' run with a crew cab superduty and ripped my whole fcuking bumper off. I was stuck good and didn't want to leave it so we went with the only other option we saw which was the leaf spring. Lesson learned.

Just to put the "re-arch" myth to rest here goes:

Re-arch new(in the box)spring : WILL HOLD JUST FINE

Re-arch old(on ur truck or junkyard)spring : WILL NOT HOLD THE ARCH LONG

it's more a band aid or look at this nice lifted truck for sale kinda thing..

belive me i know what i'm talking about...i work in a spring shop (for 10 yr now)and do a few spring job on truck every day.

new spring+re-arch= good
old spring+re-arch= crap!!!

Just to add my experience...

Had a set of springs arches on my CJ7 to fit from going from 35s to 39s. Just needed about 2 inches more at MOST. They lasted maybe a year.

I would say to go with new springs.
