Sorry for my ignorance...
Does anybody have pics of what the perches look like on a front 10 bolt and what the best way is to re-drill them for re-locating the axle? I've got an up coming 56" swap which will put my front axle 2" forward from stock so I'll need to move it back. I've seen a few of you say that moving your front axle forward a little bit actually helps with clearance so I won't be trying to move it a full 2" back, maybe 1.5" if that's doable. My issue is I don't want to get it all apart and then realize I can't do what I thought with the perches. I don't know what the perches look like (when the springs are off) are they solid on top? Can I drill them anywhere I want? Do I need to weld anything?

Does anybody have perch pics?

Thanks,
Chris

The drivers side perch can be drilled without a problem. The passanger side perch is cast into the diff housing. It could still be drilled, it'd be a little more difficult. A zero rate would be a better option to move the axle. If you decide to drill, measure several times before drilling, otherwise you will need a welder to fill the holes in to try again.

X2 on the zero rates. It is a more durable setup and you can go back and fourth without drilling and redrilling. Also they will be more exact.

For future reference the cast side is not hard to drill at all, just step up the bit sizes like you would normally. I redrilled my 60 for an inch forward without any issues, sorry no pictures but I just measured an inch back from the center of the stock hole and marked it with a punch, used a small t square to make sure they were lined up right then drilled them out. If you look at the stock holes they are not all that precise so as long as you dont really screw it up you probably wont notice
