I'd like to put some newer style mirrors on my 1990 K5. I tow a 19' boat and would like some of those extended type Dodge/Ford looking mirrors. Does Chevy make anything that would bolt right on? Any ideas?

Thanks

Kelvin

I have never seen any but if you find some I'd love to know about it. I tow a 28 ft. camper w/ my K5 and I bought some mirrors that basically snap on the stock mirrors. I will say that they keep me legal but that's about it. The kind of vibrate so what you see is very blurred and they really don't extend out far enough so I can't really see around the camper very well. Like I said though, at least I'm legal.

I don't think there really is much available for the older trucks as far as towing mirrors.:doah:

They make mirror extenders for our type mirrors. I have a set for mine, they just slide over the existing mirror and extend out about 6-10"

ive got a 1990 crew cab 1 ton dually and the factory mirrors look like all the other stock ones, but they slide out, i think about 3 inches.it helps some.i could take some pictures if you want.maybe youve allready seen these and want something else?

So do you think they'll bolt up to an older truck? Some pictures would be helpful.

yes, they would bolt up.the 90 crew cab is the same body style as the blazer.i will get you some pics monday afternoon when i get home.i have an 87 and a 91 blazer and the mirrors all bolt up the same and look identical except on the arm where they slide out.

by the way ,in the lounge under look what i found in front of my boat thread by cannmorek5 ,it looks like he has the same mirrors and truck as i do.notice how far out they are extended.other than that thy look like regular mirrors.just to give you an idea of what im talking about.

check out JC Whitney's catalog. Lots of mirrors for old tow rigs there... pretty cheap too.

Yours are power mirrors aren't they? 1990 was the first year option for power mirrors and those look to be them.

What was the last year for this body style?

1991 for blazers, suburbans and crew cabs. Body changed for all other trucks in 1988.
