Do ALL ball joints, TRE's, DLE's from all makes and models of vehicles have the same taper?

Mmm. I know that they are not all the same net diameter ... to wit, the Ford/Jeep pitman arms that must be reamed out for crossover use on Chebbies. They may be the same taper, i.e. angle, slope, whatever.

IIRC, that taper (Chebby DLE, right?) is 1.5" for every foot.

HTH. Not a complete answer, I know, but some info.

I believe they are all 7* included angle. I got mine from snap on, p/n r-121. It sure looked like a pos compared with other reamers I have used, which are usually sharp enough to slice you wide open if handled carlessly. I think the trick to the snap-on reamer is low rpms with mucho pressure. I did it likr that on my lathe and it worked out just fine.

As far as all makes and models sharing the 7* taper, I don't know.

Just did the math, 1.5" taper over 12" works out to 7.125*, I *guess* that the 7* taper is close enough. It's what I used and was reccommended by WFO.
