Reaming D44 knuckle for tierod to go in through the bottom??

Would I run into a problem if I tried to ream out a D44 knuckle so that the tie rod goes in through the bottom like 10b's?? Maybe not make a tight fit since the top would still be big

I wouldn't do it. Not enough contact area in the knuckle on the TRE if it was only tapered 1/2 way.

Thats what I was kind of thinking. Guess zero rates it is

There was some guy on pirate that made some tapered sleeves that he would put in with loctite sleeve retainer. He would then taper it from the other side. The other option you have is to get TRE's like come on 1st gens because they have a drop down built into them.

I was going to do this but with drag link ends instead which have the same taper but are larger in diameter. I didn't want to buy the reamer so I cut off some overloads to use as "zero rates".

i just read the writeup on here about the d44 crossover swap, and he reamed the d44 knuckle to go fromt he bottom
