I posted this in the SUb forum, but I know it doesn't get that much traffic, so I am reposting here.

I just got the blower working in my Sub, but I am not getting any cooled freon(or whatever refrigerant it is) to the lines at the back of the truck(they stay the same temp to the touch). It looks like the lines are just spliced off the lines to the front System and the refrigerant should just run straight back.

Is there a switch in the system somewhere?

Anything I might be overlooking?

Never looked into it myself, but there should be an expansion valve or orifice tube back there. Sounds like there is too much flow or none at all.

not what I want to hear. I really do not want to go get the system discharged, add a new part and refill it.

expansion valve at the rear unit, have to remove the plastic cover, and it should be right in front of the evap. not horribly priced, but not cheap either, and yes, it requires evac'n the system.

no other switching inline, just hit the fan switch, blower turns on, you should get cold air, if/when you get it running, and use the rear A/C, i was told to ALWAYS run the fan, even if it's on low speed.

Thanks. I will go mess with it somemore after I get the engine wiring back together and batteries back in.

I hear you on not wanting to vac the whole system. I think the freon alone for fill mine was like 250.00.... OUCH. I went overboard and replaced a pile of seals and stuff, because I didn't want to waste and of that 134 (I converted).

Why always run the rear fan when the AC is on? I always do just because it helps cool the truck better, but I'm curious.

I would think that since the freon is always flowing back there, if you run the blower at all times, it would help to keep the system from freezing up? :dunno:
